Installation and Software
The installation of the EVGA UV Plus+ is pretty easy – one USB connection and one monitor connection sets that up easily.
You of course can choose to not use the DVI-to-VGA adapter if your extra monitor has its own DVI cable. The retractable USB cable makes it easy to set the UV Plus+ just about anywhere on your desk or table while having clean cable organization.
The installation process has you installing the EVGA application first, attaching the monitor to the UV Plus+ and then connecting the USB cable to the computer or notebook. Once the driver is installed, going into the Display Settings menu shows your new monitor ready to be utilized.
The new monitor attached to the EVGA UV Plus+ can be rotated and positioned just like any other monitor allowing you to configure your new virtual desk space how you see fit.
Once the software is installed you will see a small icon in your task bar to quickly access the options on the UV Plus+. You can switch between extending and mirroring, or disabling it completely, with a simple one button push.
You can also easy change the placement of the new monitor in your virtual desktop to be above, below, to the left or to the right in relation to the primary display.
You can also rotate the screen (should have a monitor that can be rotated) in various ways as well.
The screen color settings can be adjusted easily…
The screen resolution can be quickly changed between the available options with this menu as well. The review model we had here was only the UV12 so its maximum resolution was 1280×1024 – the UV16 model can go up to 1600×1200 which I would have to say would be much preferred.
Finally, the software has the ability to check for updates automatically.
