In our 3DMark Vantage testing the HD 4870 512MB is about on par with the performance of the GTX 260 card from NVIDIA – impressive since there is a $100 price difference in MSRP.

I have included our 3DMark Vantage results from the CrossFire testing so you can see how a pair of HD 4850s compared to a single GTX 280 or GTX 260 – and the answer is that it does very well!

The feature tests show some interesting results on the new RV770 architecture – notice that it falls behind in complex pixel shading but are ahead in texture performance.
