Internal Evaluation
Getting into the guts of the system shows us some impressive design management and of course the hardware that makes it all tick.

For such a busy hardware list the interior of the chassis is very clean and provides ample working room should you want to modify or upgrade your system down the road.

One of my favorite features on the case is this connection panel that makes contact with the outside door to provide power to the fan and lights without a need for a cable that would require disconnection.

Here is the door: you can see the power cables for the fan and light are attached to the board on the door and thus there is no need for a cable getting in the way when you want to quickly take the door off.

The hard drive bay can hold up to four 3.5″ drives only – three of them are occupied here with the pair of VelociRaptors and single 1TB storage drive.  Four drive bays will likely be enough for some users but others might miss the expansion room.

Here we can see the pair of HD 3870 X2 cards connected in CrossFireX mode giving us four GPUs working together.  In between them rests the Creative X-Fi sound card.

Above the GPUs we find the two sticks of Patriot DDR3-1333 memory as well as the water cooled QX9770 processor running at 3.2 GHz.

The water cooling system is self contained – the radiator is seen to the left in this photo and the reservoir and pump are integrated into a single device.  These water cooling systems are impressively small but don’t deliver the same kind of power that external units can provide.

You may have noticed that the power cord for system is slightly non-standard; the square shaped connector is different than any other power supplies we have seen and I question the reasoning behind this – it only means that users will be forced to keep track of this specific cable when moving or taking their system out of the house.

Finally, with an expensive system like this comes the box of goodies including the manuals, leather bound support book, respawn discs and even an Alienware hat.  Keyboard and mouse are also of course provided by not pictured here.
