HDTach 3.0.4.0HDTach allows us to evaluate the performance of any storage subsystem including SATA, eSATA, USB and Firewire where available.
Performance on the integrated SATA controllers on the ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard are impressive for both the ICH10R south bridge and the Marvell SAS chipset. The Marvell chipset is significantly slower than all of the integrated options in terms of burst rate though the average transfer rates are quite good.
eSATA performance on all of the motherboards is good though the ASUS P6T Deluxe shines out as one of the better options. Compared to the DX58SO motherboard from Intel the ASUS X58 solution has a much improved average write speed making it the best current option for the Core i7.
USB performance is also great on the ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard with the best burst speed and average read speed as well.
