“That’s some serious boasting by NVIDIA, but this is some serious graphics horsepower. The Quadro FX 5800, already seen in NVIDIA’s Quadro Plex D data cruncher, replaces the 5600 at the top of the NVIDIA heap with 240 CUDA-programmable parallel cores and the industries first card with 4GB of graphics memory. MSRP? Just $3,499 for you big spender — pennies for the companies who can harness the power for the purposes of oil and gas exploration, 4D modeling, and graphics design.”Here is some more Tech News from around the web:

nVIDIA’s new Quadro card, the FX 5800, will sport 4GB of RAM though we don’t know exactly how fast the RAM will be. Chances are very good that the specs will be very close to the GTX280, as nVIDIA does tend to reuse the same boards and processors, as proven by the Quadro soft mods that exist. The 4GB of RAM will probably be unique, they may try it in a gaming card, but the amount of people trying to game on a 60″ monitor is probably rather small. Engadget has more here.
