A Deataile Look – the Outside (Cont’d)

The top panel of the GS1000 enclosure is gloss black (or Titanium) and blends into the contoured front bezel. It contains mounting locations for two 120mm fans (one fan is included), which are hidden under a cowling. Towards the front is a conveniently located I/O panel that features all the standard connectors but no E-SATA.

• Microphone In
• Headphone Out
• (2) USB 2.0
• IEEE-1394 Firewire

Moving around to the rear of the enclosure reveals a fairly typical mid-tower ATX layout except the power supply is located at the bottom of the enclosure, which provides increased stability. A removable plate with a pull-out handle is used to mount the PSU – another simple but convenient feature! A rear 120mm exhaust fan moves warm air out of the CPU/motherboard area. Note the two pre-drilled holes with plastic grommets above the rear exhaust fan for use with external water-cooling systems.

Flipping the GS1000 case upside down exposes two large plastic feet with rubber inserts. Also notice the three bottom mounted air intake openings, which allows cool room air to enter in through the bottom of the enclosure.
