The Nickel plated copper base of the V8 cooler exhibits a smooth machined finish (not a mirror finish as advertised).  The base proved to be slightly concave and not perfectly flat as evidenced by less than 100% contact with the CPU IHS when mounted.


The V8 uses universal mounting hardware that supports both Intel LGA775 and AMD processor platforms. Both mounts features a sturdy bolt-thru design – very good when installing a large cooler like the CM V8. 


When looking down onto the top cowling of the V8 cooler you really notice the automotive theme.  And up close and in person this cooler looks good; not a cheap plastic façade but real metal parts that work together.  And the imbedded red LEDs add a subtle lighting affect to top it off!
