Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: World at War (DirectX 9)
Call of Duty: World at War is a WWII-based shooter built on the Call of Duty 4 engine with a little flair added. The game is unique in the genre as it sets the game at the Pacific stage rather than the much more common, and less controversial, European front.

For our testing with CoD: WaW we ran through the level of the game shown above while recording in FRAPS to get our frame rate comparisons below. The game plays almost exactly like CoD 4 (a good thing) so our testing methods were reliable and repeatable.

The BFG GeForce GTX 295 graphics card is definitely the best performing single card solution on the market as it passes by the likes of the AMD Radeon HD 4870 X2 with relative ease. Unfortunately, the Quad SLI aspects of the GTX 295 are not as interesting as even at 2560×1600 we saw only modest scaling at best over a single card; though the minimum frame rate did see a HUGE jump up.
Even tho this is a pretty old
Even tho this is a pretty old VGA, it’s still a awesome graphics card.
I got 2 of these on SLI that I plan to replace soon, but together they can handle most recent games in high details and resolution.
For my new machine, there will be 3 SLI VGA’s (don’t know which) running on a 6-core, which I expect to bring me an additional 20 to 40% performance.
Still, great video card.
I don’t ever regret buying it!
