Installation
The internal layout of the Fortress FT01 chassis is typical for a standard mid-tower ATX style case except the PSU is located at the bottom. The installation of basic components was accomplished with ease and there is plenty of clearance above the motherboard, even for an over-sized CPU cooler. However, the FT01 does not support Extended ATX motherboards and you will have to remove the center 3.5” HDD bays when using one or more 12” graphic adapters.

Cable management is OK as there is room behind the drive bays to route and hide cables, but the foam lining on the side panel takes up most of the space behind the motherboard tray, which can make re-installing the right side panel a little tricky if you try to stuff too many cables into this area.
Power Supply
The power supply slides into position from the side, sits on top of the plastic dust filter, and is secured with four thumb screws thru the backside panel. The filtered opening in the bottom of the case underneath the power supply is designed to provide air directly to PSU’s with bottom mounted fans.
Exposed Drive Bays – Optical Drives
The front 5.25” drive bay covers must be removed before a 5.25” ODD or bay device can be mounted (two screws from the inside). Each drive or bay device then slides in from the front and is secured with a tool-less retention mechanism. Push them one way and two small pins engage the side of the drive to hold it in place; push it the other way and the pins release.
