Internal Hard Disc Drives
The two internal HDD cages can mount up to seven 3.5” HDDs. Drives mount in removable plastic trays that are fitted with four rubber bushings to help reduce vibration and noise.
The HDDs are cooled by air that is pulled in thru the front 180mm intake fan. Wires and cables attach to the back (right side of case).
The Fortress FT01 comes with one CP05 SATA hot-swap connector mounted in the top HDD bay. Additional connectors can be purchased separately.
ATX Motherboard and Graphic Adapters
The chassis uses threaded standoffs for mounting points and everything lined up and fit perfectly. The FT01 supports ATX and micro-ATX motherboards but not Extended ATX. Standard 10.5” graphic adapters should fit OK with all of the internal HDD bays in place, however if your cards have power connectors on the ends, attaching the cables/connectors may get rather tight.
If you plan to use one or more of the longer 12” graphic adapters, you will have to remove the upper 3.5” drive cage. This will also free up more room for routing cables.
