Under the Hood
Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside Antec’s new TruePower New series 750W power supply.  The overall layout, build quality and component selection appears to be very good as we have come to expect from Antec.

Antec appears to once again be using Seasonic as their OEM for the TruePower New series.  While the TP-750 shares many common features with Seasonic’s own M12D 750W PSU, the TruePower New version is distinctly different.

On the primary side we find dual bridge rectifiers surrounded by several large choke coils with a single high-quality Nippon Chemi-Con capacitor (560uF, 400V and 85°C) tucked in behind the primary heatsink.

The TP-750 uses DC to DC converters to produce +3.3V and +5V from the main +12V section.  Note the use of solid polymer caps on the daughter board to the left and in front of the main transformer.

The secondary side is also populated with Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors (105°C), which are partially hidden by the distribution wiring.
