“The cooling for the CPU and chipset is more than adequate for the P8400 CPU, but would probably be a little weak for a Q9400 CPU which can be configured in this unit. Under full load this cooler spins up really fast and reminds me of the Delta 38 fans from the early years of PC overclocking…”Here are some more Mobile articles from around the web:

Alienware gets hot n’ heavy
BCC Hardware recently picked up a $2534CDN Alienware M17 CrossfireX gaming laptop, and almost injured themselves as it weighs the better part of 15lbs. As the weight implies, this laptop is not intended to be carted around everywhere and the components guarantee you will want to be near a power outlet when you fire up this beast. Their particular configuration has C2D P8400 @ 2.26GHz, 3GB of DDR3-1066 memory and a pair of mobility Radeon HD 3870 cards, they also opted to upgrade the screen to a 1920×1200 LCD. All that power is turned into heat, and from their tests it turns out the air leaving the exhaust port will keep your drinks nice and warm while you are gaming.
