A Detailed Look
The Enermax Liberty ECO 500W power supply features a black-metallic finish with a gold colored fan guard.  The enclosure is only 140mm (5.5”) deep so it should fit in most any case and uses a single 120mm fan for cooling.

The backside panel features an open grill and includes a power receptacle and master On-Off switch.  The honey comb grill allows air to exhaust out of the power supply for cooling the internal components.

The bottom fan opening is contoured around the edge to help guide airflow into the fan and reduce turbulence (less noise).  This is the patented AirGuard aerodynamic design feature.

The fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases) via an onboard fuzzy-logic controller.  The 120mm, 9 blade, Enermax labeled fan (EB122512H) incorporates dual ball bearings and is rated for 0.30A at 12V.  Enermax lists the speed range as going from 450 rpm up to 1,500 rpm.  Note, this is the same fan Enermax uses in their Modu82+ 625W PSU.

The ECO 500W PSU comes with five, color-coded modular connectors on the front side.   The red 12-pin connector supports the modular PCI-E cable/connectors and was designed to be future-ready as new VGA connector requirements evolve.  The four black connectors power the peripheral device modular cables.

The Enermax Liberty ECO 500W power supply has a good assortment of modular and hard wired cables/connectors.  The two motherboard power cables are hard wired into the PSU chassis, while all the peripheral cables are modular.  The cables are covered with Enermax’s traditional snakeskin, braided plastic mesh sleeving and measure approximately 19″~20” long (to the first connector).

Fixed:
•    Main power connector (24-pin/20-pin)
•    ATX12V/EPS12V (4/8-pin)

Modular:
•    (2) PCI Express (6+2-pin)
•    (5) Peripheral Optical/HDD (4-pin)
•    (5) Peripheral Serial ATA (15-pin)
•    (1) Peripheral FDD (4-pin)

Note: Enermax is using 12-pin connectors on the PSU end of the PCI-E cables to insure the PSU will be able to meet future graphic adapter card connector requirements.
