Card Comparison and Testing Setup
The Galaxy 9600 GT LP actually runs at slightly lower clock speeds than the reference 9600 GT GPU from all that time ago; this was a necessary move for Galaxy to be able to fit the card into a smaller form factor and remove the 6-pin PCIe power requirement.

Galaxy GeForce 9600 GT LP Review - Low Power, Low Profile - Graphics Cards 62

You can see the core clock is 50 MHz lower while the shader clock is a full 125 MHz slower than the reference speeds we listed on the first page.  This of course indicates that performance will be a bit slower than standard 9600 GTs though it still will be comparable.

For our benchmarking comparisons we pitted the Galaxy 9600 GT LP against a similarly-priced AMD product, the Radeon HD 4670 512MB.
