The front panel on the SG05 is quite unique compared to other mini ITX cases in its class. The two items that stood out right away was the slim-line optical drive bay and 120mm fan below it. Both of these items are usually non-existant in these types of cases. It’s nice to see a vendor thinking outside of the box a bit and inventing new ways to use a small amount of real estate.

The right, left, and top panels all have pre-fabricated air vents that will allow for good ventilation for even the hottest PC components like the graphics card and CPU.

The back panel is pretty standard. The 300W power supply sits above the motherboard, which might cause issues for some third party heatsinks that are not developed with a low profile design. There are also two slots on the right for PCI-E or PCI cards.

Here’s a quick shot of the right panel. Notice it has a larger vent to exhaust heat from a longer graphics card. This case can support video cards up to 9 inches long.

Lastly, the bottom of the case is very smooth and don’t include any pre-mounted feet. Silverstone did include four rubber feet that can be added at the consumer’s convenience.
