The front of the Spedo enclosure features twelve external 5.25” drive bays, which have metal, open grill covers installed with dust filters mounted behind.  The top seven bays are available for installing 5.25” devices while the lower bays contain two HDD cages.  The chrome On-Off and Reset pushbuttons as well as the Power-On (blue) and HDD activity lights (red) are located in the upper right hand corner.    Located near the center of the front panel is a 140mm intake fan with red LEDS, which blows air into the chassis over the internal HDD cages.

The front bezel of the Spedo case can easily be removed to access the drive covers, dust filters and 5.25” drive bays.  Either of the two HDD cages can be relocated on the front panel if desired.

Both of the metal side panels are easy to remove thanks to a built in latching handle mechanism and are secured with thumb screws.  The left side panel features a low-speed 230mm intake fan mounted in the center of a clear window.  There is also a small grill area located towards the front of the case beside the fan.

Note: The side panel fan uses a unique two-piece connector, which is built into the bottom edge of the side panel and case to power the fan.  This means you don’t have to fumble around disconnecting and re-connecting fan wires when removing or replacing the side panel; pretty cool.
