We happened to find a presentation in our inbox a few minutes ago that clearly shows XFX is serious about getting into the enthusiast, high-end power supply business.
Looks straight out of Transformers…
- 850 watts rated at 50C degrees
- Single 12V rail rated up to 70A/840W
- Detachable modular cables
- Up to 88% efficiency (80 Plus Silver rated)
- Voltage regulation to within +/-3%
The fixed cables include the primary 24-pin ATX connector and 12V 4/8-pin ATX connector along with the EPS12V 8-pin connection and two 6/8-pin PCI Express power cords. The modular cables include two additional PCIe 6/8-pin connectors, 11 SATA power connections, 8 4-pin Molex connections and 2 legacy FDD connections. Sounds like it should be enough for just about ANY system configuration.
I think that most readers will find the looks on the PSU to be inviting – it has the bright green to make sure you know it’s an enthusiast offering but the gun-metal grey mutes it enough to fit in with just about any case design. Hopefully in person the power supply will continue to impress.
We don’t have details on the release date or price yet, but since this bit of PowerPoint found its way to us right around Computex, it would makes sense that XFX would launch the product at the show. No word on which ODM XFX is using either, but we’ll be sure to get more details while in Taiwan next week.
