While wandering around the nearly-deserted Hall 1 of Computex, we ran into some friends at Gigabyte that had a couple of interesting things to show us.

First up was a custom built Radeon HD 4890 1GB graphics card that will come overclocked to 900 MHz compared to the 850 MHz stock frequency.

The HD 4890 OC card will also come with a unique connector output configuration that includes only a single dual-link DVI output but will add HDMI and DisplayPort.

Here’s a tricky one for you: an AMD Radeon HD 4650 with 1GB of memory running on an AGP 8x bus; that’s right AGP.  Those of you still working on very legacy hardware will be glad to see yet another way you can put off that motherboard upgrade.

For the Paris Hilton in all of us Gigabyte was showing a $100 mouse that includes Swarovski crystals, 18k gold trim and premium leather.  Oh, and it’s wireless too; Paris wouldn’t be caught dead with a wired mouse.

I’ll finish up today’s quick visit with a screenshot of some very exciting software coming from Gigabyte in Q3 of this year.  Designed for some new graphics cards that Gigabyte will also release in that time frame, this application will allow for a TON of information on power consumption, fan speeds, clock rates, etc and allow you to overclock the core with precision you just can’t get from AMD or NVIDIA tools.

The only downside is that this software will NOT be backwards compatible to older Gigabyte cards as it requires some custom logic on the board to operate properly.
