These things can operate at 1500G shock conditions.  Do they really need so much cushion?

Both drives come packaged well enough to survive a drop from several hundred feet.

The Vertex is wrapped in a metal case while the ST drive is plastic (and much lighter).

Internals

These two drives look very different, but Super Talent opted to make their own main board with a custom layout.  Their layout includes higher grade / larger capacitors throughout the design, as well as their own logo.  They clearly put some extra work into this build, while OCZ stuck with the reference board provided by Indilinx.

Popping the lids reveals what appears to be two completely different drives.  Looks can be deceiving.

The Vertex uses the standard layout provided by Indilinx.

The Super Talent drive has a completely custom layout and appears to have higher quality discrete components.
