IOMeter – Average Transaction Time
With 43 nm flash enabling lower latencies, the G2 is able to push the envelope even further here. I’m working on a means of reworking these graphs to make for easier interpretation, but for now I’ll take a sampling of raw data and put it out there for the masses:
Drive
Transaction Time (ms)
Intel X25-M G2
0.27
OCZ Vertex (1.30)
0.39
OCZ Summit 250GB (beta)
1.10
OCZ Apex 250GB
1.15
Intel X25-M 80GB (8820)
0.32
WD VelociRaptor 300GB
6.19
WD RE4-GP 2TB
11.68
The above figures were taken at a queue depth of 1, meaning controllers could not take advantage of their parallelism. The X25-M G2 model takes the cake on absolute fastest transaction service time. Vertex is close, but when you consider the tiny scale here, it is still 44% slower.
