Installation
For the installation portion of our review, we chose to install the Triton 81 heatsink on our LGA 775 test system. This is a more mainstream setup as opposed to the LGA 1366. The first items to install are two brackets that are secured to the heatsink with four screws.
Here’s the finished product with both mounting brackets installed on the Triton 81. These brackets use a standard system that is similar to Intel’s stock heatsink configuration.
To install the heatsink, just push down the pin and rotate it clockwise to lock it into place. Do each pin in this order: 1, 3, 2, 4. This will ensure a proper connection is made between the CPU and the base of the heatsink. Here’s a quick shot of what the Triton 81 looks like installed and operating. The blue LEDs are very appealing and match most case themes. It really stands out from other heatsinks we’ve seen because of the uniqueness of the aluminum fin array and the dual fan system. The fan shrouds are also a nice touch and have neat designs inlayed into each shroud.
