A Detailed Look
The steel enclosure of the Enermax Galaxy EVO 1,250W power supply features a textured dark gray finish and measures 190mm (7.5”) long. The EVO 1,250W PSU uses a single 135mm fan on the bottom for cooling. The fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases) via an onboard speed controller. The 135mm Silence (GlobeFan) fan (RL4ZB1352512MB-3M) is rated for 0.38A when operating on 12 VDC. Note the plastic shroud that helps divert airflow thru the PSU and out the back.
The backside panel includes a power receptacle, On-Off switch, and the PowerGuard LED. The open grill structure allows air to exhaust out of the power supply with minimal restriction and turbulence.
The PowerGuard status indicator is a multi-color LED that shows the operational status of the EVO 1,250W PSU.
The Enermax Galaxy EVO 1,250W PSU comes with an excellent assortment of fixed and modular cables, which are covered with Enermax’s classic snakeskin plastic mesh sleeving that range in length from 20″ to 24″ to the first connector. The six black sockets power the peripheral cables while the four red sockets are used for additional PCI-E and future expansion options.
