World in Conflict
World in Conflict (DirectX 10)
An incredibly detailed RTS game, World in Conflict allows you to look at your troops from a bird’s eye view as well as zooming to street level to get hands on with the combat. As you get closer, the game only looks better, as the scaling detail is incredible making this title an easy pick for DX10 benchmarking.
World in Conflict Test Settings
World in Conflict continues to have very dedicated players and for good reason: it’s a great tactical RTS title. In my testing the HD 5870 is definitely faster than the GTX 285 though that gap lessens as the resolution shifts higher towards 2560×1600. Unfortunately again the new AMD graphics card can’t quite keep up with the GTX 295 and falls behind by about 30% in our top resolution test.
For game that many had decided was CPU bound, World in Conflict scales quite well with a pair of Radeon HD 5870 cards: 76% at the 2560×1600 resolution in fact.
We do not have a video of WiC with AMD Eyefinity because we couldn’t get it to work reliably. We do discuss the issue in our Resident Evil 5 video though, so look at that on the previous page if you are interested and haven’t already.
