The Megahalem arrived from CrazyPC.com in a decent-looking retail box with a wire frame drawing of the heatsink on the front panel of the box. The blue and black graphics and advertising scheme isn’t the most modern we’ve seen, but it does the job.
The back panel of the retail box is pretty plain and only has a small bulleted list of features that showcase what the Megahalem can do.
The right-side panel states that the Megahalem is only compatible with LGA 775 and 1366 processors. They also repeat this information in four different languages.
The left-side panel has a short list that includes the Megahalem’s overall specifications, dimensions, weight, and recommended fan size.
As we opened its retail packaging, we confirmed that the Megahalem arrived in one piece and was appropriately secured with foam and bubble wrap. A small bag of accessories will also shipped in a different compartment to avoid damaging the heatsink during shipping.
Here’s a quick shot of the user manual and thermal paste that Prolimatech provides with the Megahalem.
The Megahalem also comes with two fan mounting clips and other brackets and screws for mounting this heatsink on LGA 775 and 1366 processors.
In addition to the heatsink, CrazyPC.com also included a Scythe Kaze-Jyuni Slip Stream 120mm fan that has a reduced center hub and enlarged fan blade that produces better airflow and uses less power.
Here’s a quick shot of the fan out of its retail packaging. The fan comes with four screws and and a three-pin power adapter.
