The GeForce 210 seen above is a half-height card that provides a good set of connections without the need for any type of external power.

Here you can see the 210 compared to the GeForce 9800 GTX+ card – obviously you are getting some dramatic performance and heat differences between these two cards.

The fan on the GeForce 210 is small but rotates at a pretty high speed to keep things cool and thus creates a bit more noise that we would have liked.  The sound is not unreasonable, though the GT 220’s is a bit better.

The external connections include a legacy VGA , a dual-link DVI output and an HDMI connection.

The die of the GT218 is incredibly small and should result in a much higher profit margin for NVIDIA and its partners than previous GPUs in this price segment.

The GeForce GT 220 is a slightly larger card with a bigger fan and heatsink on it to cool the slightly more powerful GPU.

As I said before, the fan on the GT 220 is a bit quieter than the one on the GeForce 210 due to its larger size.  This card also does not require an external power connection – great news for low cost system upgraders.

The external connections are the same here: single VGA, single dual-link DVI and an HDMI connection.

Here you can see the chip of the GT 220 graphics card – pretty dang small compared to previous options from NVIDIA.

And finally, just to make sure we are fair, here is the GeForce GT 220 compared to the same 9800 GTX+ as seen above.  Now let’s get to how these cards perform.
