Now here is where things get a bit interesting. The EX58-Extreme was very close to matching the MSI Eclipse Plus’s 3DMark overall score, but took a commanding lead in the CPU scoring department. This really falls in line with other benchmark results we’ve seen in our review today. The EX58-Extreme seems to be heavily geared toward optimizing the efficiency of the processor in a variety of applications and operations, but it just keeps pace with the rest of the LGA 1366 lineup in other areas of a PC like gaming. It’s Crysis and Far Cry 2 scores are a few frames lower than the rest of the field, but these margins aren’t enough to warrant a significant increase or decrease in performance during real-world game play.
