BIOS Features

The ASUS P7PP5D Deluxe uses an American Megatrends Inc. BIOS. The current version that we used during our review is version 0911, which is the latest non-beta BIOS available for this motherboard.

(Note: Most of these screenshots were taken using the first version of this BIOS, but we updated a few of them to show some new features available in the latest version 0911.)

The System Information submenu has detailed information about the BIOS version, build date, and other information related to the processor and system memory. This is just a small snapshot of the BIOS, CPU, and memory settings. More information on these components is available under the Ai Tweaker menu.

The Ai Tweaker menu is where most enthusiasts and overclockers will be spending their time in the BIOS. This menu is where users can make adjustments to CPU voltages, frequencies, and other components that are tied into overclocking. ASUS is well known for their highly detailed overclocking options and the P7P55D Deluxe falls right in line with this statement.

The first available option is the Ai Overclock Tuner, which allows users to manually set their overclocking parameters or load preset configurations that are loaded in the system. D.O.C.P. is used to overclock DRAM frequencies by adjusting the base clock frequency. Lastly, X.M.P. allows users to chose from pre-loaded profiles that are supported by certain memory modules to enhance system performance.

Another new feature is the BIOS options for configuring ASUS’s OC Tuner utility. Configuration options include setting the utility in good performance, better performance, and Turbo Profile. Users can also start the OC Tuner utility right from the BIOS to automatically overclock the processor and memory. Users should note that it will take several reboots to for the utility to ensure it gets a stable overclock from the CPU and memory.
