Testing Configuration and Benchmarks Used
We compared the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe against the Intel DP55KG and Gigabyte’s P55-UD6 and GA-X58-UD3R. The thought process behind our testing criteria was two-fold: to evaluate the P55 platform against the X58 chipset and analyze the performance gains, if any, that users will notice between an LGA 1156 CPU versus an LGA 1366 processor.

Our 64-bit test bench for LGA 1156 processors includes 4 GBs of dual channel DDR3 memory, a GTS 250 512MB graphics card, and a Western Digital 160GB SATA hard drive for storage. This configuration is based off a typical mid-range users LGA 1156 system.
