PCMark Vantage
Futuremark’s newest benchmark suite, PCMark Vantage, was released earlier this year we published an initial article on the new software that looked at some CPU performance as well as providing overviews for all the individual testing suites it uses and what kind of applications they emulate. The new Vantage software takes a much more real-world user-scenario approach to testing that previous PCMark software and as such deserves more time our benchmark analysis.
After almost identical scores in the gaming benchmarks, the P55-UD6 actually produces a higher PCMark Vantage score in the gaming category over the other P55 boards we tested against it today. But, we do have to take into account this board’s low overall PCMark Vantage score, which is calculated from its results in each of the categories you see above. What does this mean for this board? Well, the lowest scores we saw for the P55-UD6 were in music and productivity, which indicates the board isn’t optimized as much as the other boards for doing every day tasks. But, its gaming scores suggest Gigabyte put more effort into optimizing this board for gamers and overclockers, and less on basic PC operations that users do on a daily basis.
