    This is a fair test to see if the nForce 200 bridge chip is in fact a decelerator that many claim.  Theoretically it might suffer some higher latency as compared to the 790FX northbridge.

    At least in this test we see no significant difference in performance between the two boards.  The GPU tests were oh-so-slightly higher than the 790FX board, but at least we can show that performance really does not suffer.

Gig-E File Transfer

    A 914 MB file was prepared for transfer from a “server” machine with a 7200 RPM disk and 8 GB of RAM, plus a Gig-E connection.  The file was then transferred from the server to the test machine, all the while timing the download, as well as measuring CPU usage.

    The integrated Gig-E controller on the nForce board (using the Realtek chip as the PHY) was faster overall, though it had a slightly higher CPU usage percentage.
