A Detailed Look
The steel enclosure of the Kingwin LZ-1000 power supply features a black-matt finish and measures 180mm (7.1”) long. The Lazer Series PSUs use a single 140mm fan on the bottom for cooling. The fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases) via an onboard speed controller. The 140mm fan (GlobeFan RL8CB1402512H) is rated for 0.4A when operating on 12 VDC. Note the plastic shroud that helps divert airflow thru the PSU and out the back.
The backside panel includes a power receptacle, On-Off switch, and a 3-position switch that controls the LED lighting (Blue LED, White LED or Off). The open grill structure allows air to exhaust out of the power supply with minimal restriction and turbulence.
The Kingwin LZ-1000 PSU comes with a good assortment of fixed and modular cables, which are covered with plastic mesh sleeving. The LZ-1000 features Crystal Cube Modular sockets, which light up with either blue or white LEDs. The eight Crystal Cube sockets provide power to the modular peripheral device and PCI-E cables.
