nVIDIA’s new cards are aimed to depose AMD’s low performance GPU crown; with the GeForce GT 240 sitting at $89, right in the neighbourhood of AMD’s older HD4670.  [H]ard|OCP pitted it against the slightly more expensive HD4770 as well as the aged 9600GT a card that is almost 2 years old.  Unfortunately for nVIDIA, in many ways the 9600GT is still the better choice.
