Using 7-Zip and Hyper Pi, we can get a better picture of how the Eee N270 works until some computationally intensive tasks.

The Eee 1201N shows that it can handle four simultaneous processing threads while the Dell Mini 10v sputters along. Traditionally dual-core CPUs like the Atom 330 are great for tasks like file compression, media encoding, but with Windows 7 doing more operations transparently, having a dual-core system really helps in giving a more responsive and “snappier” OS.
