The joys of the PC, building your own rig, cleaning off strange crud, customizing a watercooling setup for it, diagnosing random crashes when you game on the PC, the fun never ends!  Even your virtual hardware can drive you batty.   You did back everything up recently, right? 

You could switch to Linux and see if that helps; just make sure you have all the software you’ll need.  If you stick with Windows you aren’t off the hook, there is a wide world of malware and viruses just waiting for an improperly protected PC.
