A few weeks back, Western Digital released their first SSD.  We suspected they would not be the only storage company to move into the realm of flash-based storage solutions, but the very next announcement came from an optical media company – Plextor!

The specs aren’t particularly outstanding, but keep in mind this is a first generation controller.  Let’s get to the benches and see what’s what!
