15.4″ notebooks have become a popular form factor for gaming these days. Compared to 17″ behemoths, these 15.4″ systems are as fast as the larger brothers minus all the backache.

MSI has announced their new GX640 notebook and PC gamers should pay attention because it features an ATI Radeon 5850. Coupled with this DX11 capable goodness is a 15.4″ LED backlit display at an odd screen resolution of 1680×1050, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 500GB 7200 RPM HDD.

Although the CPU is a bit skimpy with an Intel Core i5-430M, gamers know that it’s the GPU that matters. It comes outfitted with a 9-cell battery and weighs in at just over 6lbs.

At a $1199 price tag, it’s fairly well priced considering the specs and the GPU that is included.

You can find the MSI GX640 gaming notebook available now at Newegg and Amazon. All the details and specs can be found at MSI’s mobile website.
