Temperature and Weight
The Asus G51J 3D actually runs a bit cooler compared to the “normal” Asus G51J. All readings below were taken with an ambient temperature of 21.9C / 71.4F.
One of my main complaints of the G51J was the extremely hot air blowing out the left side of the system (58.8C / 137.84F!!), and luckily the Asus G51J-3D does not suffer from this. The air coming of the G51J-3D is more like a summer breeze with an acceptable 43.3C. Still not great, but at least left-handed users can use a mouse without having to wear an oven mitt.
Weight
The Asus G51J-3D is not a light unit, and for a 15.4″ notebook it’s almost double the weight of some other 15.4″ units on the market. The power brick itself is as heavy as some netbooks!
With the short battery life, and the heavy weight, the G51J-3D is not exactly a notebook you’ll be pulling out during a long flight or car ride. Luckily there is a backpack that is included to help you carry it around until you get to where you’re going.
3D rendering is the 3D
3D rendering is the 3D computer graphics process of manually converting 3D wire frame models into 2D images with 3D photorealistic special effects on a computer.
