I continue to be highly skeptical here, if only because we have YET to actually test any of these OCZ PCIe SSDs in-house nor have we seen the previously announced ones in wide circulation, but anything with “PCI Express” and “SSD” is enough to perk up our ears.  The new R2 version of the Z-Drive is set to hit mass production this month and should be available soon.  By removing the SATA bottleneck the Z-Drive R2 has a capacity as high as 2TB and can reach speeds exceeding 1.3 GB/s, – yes 1.3 Gigabytes per second!  The drive is bootable and utilizes a x8 PCIe connection but is really targeted at the IT world rather than enthusiasts and gamers.  But we can dream!
