BIOS Features
Like most modern motherboards on the market today, the ASRock P55 Deluxe uses an American Megatrends Inc. BIOS that has been flashed to BIOS 2.0, which fixes the following issues:
- Adds SATA3 Code
Main menu including BIOS version, system time, system date settings
OC Tweaker menu includes CPU EZ OC and Memory EZ OC options. Users can also manually overclock the CPU and memory by changing the Overclock Mode to manual.
CPUZ EZ OC submenu options can be set from 3.6 to 4.2GHz
Memory EZ OC submenu options range from DDR3 1866 to DDR3 2400
There are four options under the Overclock Mode submenu – Auto, manual, I.O.T., and Optimized.
QPI Frequenices range from auto, 4.8GT, and 4.266GT
DRAM Frequenices range from 400MHz to 800MHz
The DRAM Timing Control menu is where users can fine tune the inner workings of their system memory.
Users can choose to enable or disable VDrop so they can keep the CPU voltage more consistent under idle and load conditions.
CPU voltages can be configured in .00625v increments through the CPU voltage submenu.
After users have reached a stable overclock, they can save their settings in one of the three available slots in the BIOS.
The Advanced Settings menu gives users access to the CPU, chipset, ACPI, storage, floppy, and USB configuration options.
The CPU Configuration tab outlines key features that users can tweak to get higher overclocks. Some features to consider changing include the CPU ration, Intel Virtualization Tech, Intel Speedstep, and Intel C-State tech.
Hardware Monitor menu gives users detailed information about CPU and motherboard temps as well as data on voltages and fan speeds.
