Dimastech Test Bench Table Easy V2.5 Review - Cases and Cooling 46

After using the Dimastech Test Bench Table Easy V2.5 for a few weeks, I can honestly say my productivity levels during testing of new hardware increased fairly significantly. Being able to focus on swapping out just the motherboard while keeping the rest of the test setup intact was extremely helpful. But, there were a few downsides with this setup. The first and foremost issue is ensuring you have an accessible location to put it. This beast is humungous! Not only does it weigh a lot, but it also takes up a lot of real estate on my desktop. Another fairly significant issue I encountered was attempting to secure the bottom tray to the main chassis. It looks as though they didn’t include the correct screws because I tried every type they had and none gave me a snug fit. I’ll have to work with Dimatech about my concern in this area and get back to you to figure out a solution.

Another small issue I ran into was the size of the motherboard thumbscrews. The one under the main graphics card needed to be swapped out in order for the card to go all the way into the PCIe slot. This is not a big deal because most of us have normal-sized screws, but it’s definitely good feedback to Dimastech on small items they can take care of in future revisions.

Conclusion

Dimastech Test Bench Table Easy V2.5 Review - Cases and Cooling 49

We’d like to thank Dimastech for providing the Test Bench Table Easy V2.5 for our review today. The entire system is very solid and creating a tooless design was definitely the way to go. Some improvements I would suggest are making quick-release locking mechanisms for the optical and hard drive bays as well as a better rail system for the bottom tray. I would also like to see clips on the top of the unit for all the power and data cables when they are not in use. That way, I can easily access them after installing new components. Other than those minor issues, this test bench is well constructed, flexible for different configurations, and would work great as an exhibition piece at a computer show or even a local LAN party. All in all, the Test Bench Table Easy V2.5 has earned PC Perspective’s Gold Award for its innovative design, flexible layout, and quality construction.
