The ASUS Republic of Gamers series of motherboards receives rave reviews and they have extended the series to include graphics cards with the ASUS ROG Matrix 5870 Platinum, sporting twice the VRAM as a normal HD5870.  On this card you will find a SuperHybridEngine chips which uses a 8+2+2 phase power with automatic switching that is supposed to significantly lower GPU power noise.  There is also a Super ML capacitor which should help overclockers and new software called iTracker 2 to allow you to overclock this card as far as it can go.  The price will be right around the $500 mark, a big jump in price compared to the reference cards available on the market.

[H]ard|OCP tested the card out and came to the conclusion that if you are just going to pop the card in and use it you are wasting your money.  If you are a hardware tweaker that loves overclocking then this card will put a huge smile on your face as you realize just how good an investment this card is for you.

“ASUS is launching its new Radeon HD 5870 GPU based video card, the ASUS ROG Matrix 5870 Platinum Edition. ASUS has completely re-designed its 5870 to appeal to hardware enthusiasts and gamers alike, providing an incredible feature set with unprecedented control and customization.”
