Eagle Tech has released a 2.1 speaker system called the Arion ET-AR506-BK, it is not very portable but they are appropriate for many setups. The orange and black colour scheme might not work for everyone but the quality is certainly good enough for small rooms. The two satellites have dual 3″ midrange drivers and single 1″ tweeter with 12.5W of power and the subwoofer has a nice 5″ driver with 25W of power and claim a frequency response range of 2,000 Hz to 2,000 kHz. Bjorn3D does warn that you had better like bass in your music as the subwoofer can overpower the two satellites.
“Computer audio has come a long way. We no longer need a dedicated sound card to be able to enjoy music while working on the computer. The onboard audio chip that is bundled with all motherboards are all decent enough that for casual listeners. While there are dedicated sound cards available, such as Creative X-FI and Asus Xonar, that are meant to improve the gaming experience, for most people the onboard audio provides enough sound quality that there is no need to spend extra money on a sound card.”Here is some more Tech News from around the web:
