System Setup and Testing Configuration

The ASUS ARES is recognized by GPU-Z and shows 1600 shaders per GPU, 2GB of memory per GPU and the expected clock speeds for the core and memory.

The Windows device manager sees each GPU as an independent card and standard ATI drivers are all that is required.

The ARES really does dwarf our testbed…
For our testing we are going to be comparing the new ASUS ARES graphics card to the best single-card graphics solutions on the market today. That means you’ll see comparisons to the Radeon HD 5970, the HD 5870 as well as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480. Of course we couldn’t leave Eyefinity/Surround testing out so we have a couple of pages of comparisons for that at the end as well!
