Performance Testing: PCMark Vantage, 3DMark
For the most part, the Asus U30j performs fairly well in PCMark Vantage with good results in Productivity, Memories, and TV and Movies tests. However Music, the results drop drastically in this CPU intensive multi-threaded test.
In 3D Vantage, the Asus G51J 3D is there as a point of reference only since the G51 is in a different class of product. With that, the U30’s performance in 3DMark Vantage highlights NVIDIA’s Optimus in effect by switching to the discrete GeForce 310M GPU for better performance.
Taking the Asus U30 for a spin in Batman: Arkham Asylum, I was able to get a steady 30FPS at 1366×768 with Very High details, which is pretty impressive for the GeForce 310M.

Comparing the Asus U30 to netbooks just further highlights the significant differences between a full-fledged notebook and netbooks based on small CPUs.
