More Features and Extras
The MSI XPower motherboard comes with a really nice bundle of extras to add to the total package. The manual, certification and overclocking tests combined with the signed copy of the results really make this feel like a “high end” product and that you are getting something of value for your cash.
With the motherboard MSI has included a set of 6 SATA cables, three SATA power adapters, USB 2.0 port back panel and eSATA conversion bracket.
The OC Dashboard allows the user to monitor voltages, temperatures and adjust some very basic overclocking settings on the fly while the system is running but at the BIOS level. This can be handy for overclockers that are obsessive about component safety, etc.
The audio riser card is pretty impressive and includes 8 channel analog output as well as both digital coax and optical outputs. The audio chip is a Realtek ALC889 that supports Creative EAX 5.0 surround effects and is THX certified.
The riser card fits in the lone x1 PCIe slot on the board and brings true 24-bit / 192 kHz digital audio to the XPower.
Finally, the last bit of goods in the XPower box are the voltage monitoring connections, back panel, USB and Firewire headers and three SLI connectors with a single CrossFire connector as well.
