Introduction and Features
Companies like ASRock and ECS are working to compete with giants in the motherboard industry like ASUS and Gigabyte, but they are taking a different path to winning over the hearts and minds of consumers. ECS is developing mobos that not only meet the performance needs of consumers, but they are also working to bring similar technologies and chipsets to market at a lower cost. The H55H-M is one of those boards selling for around $65 from most vendors, but it gives users a capable board that can handle any LGA 1156 processor and even a decent PCI-E graphics card to boot.

We got to slap this board onto our test bench for a round of benchmarks to see how it compares against other h55 offerings on the market today.

The ECS H55M-H is a bit smaller than your typical micro ATX motherboard at 244mm x 200mm, but it still gives users a decent feature set that includes support for the latest LGA 1156 processors, including the entire i3, i5, and i7 series. The additional PCI-E x16 slot gives PC builders another option to add discrete graphics or a premium sound solution using one of two PCI-E x1 slots.

The H55 chipset onboard also brings a lot of good features to consumers like support for 8GBs of DDR3 1066/1333 memory and six SATA 3GB/s devices. An external eSATA port is also available on the back I/O panel, which is great for connecting external hard drives and get better read/write speeds than USB 2.0.
