Performance continued and Conclusions

The rest of our benchmarks again put the Maingear F131 at the top of our list making it about as good as you get for computing and gaming performance.
Closing Thoughts
Maingear really impressed us during our review process and everything from the custom made packing materials to the free custom etched side panels and the high level of personal service available to customers really shows that Maingear knows what it takes to impress customers and keep them coming back. It doesn’t hurt of course that the F131 as we tested it was easily the fastest computer we have ever reviewed.

Our system price was just about $4200 based on the specs we listed on the previous pages. That is obviously a very steep entry fee though you are getting the best of the best in both hardware and support with that cost. But Maingear does indeed offer lower cost options in the F131 segment with P55-based Intel solutions and even mainstream AMD Phenom II-based options. Those will likely be more attainable for the average gamer that wants a system built for them rather than doing it themselves.
Maingear is doing things right in terms of service and product and it’s hard to beat a combination like that in today’s market.

I bought a MAINGEAR F131 Z68
I bought a MAINGEAR F131 Z68 Super Stock computer in January 2012. I upgraded to the i72700 3.5 GHz CPU, had a SSD SATA drive and two 1TB Seagate Barracuda drives installed, and paid $30 for a flash card reader. I upgraded to Windows7 Pro64.
After the initial order I was contacted that the upgrade CPU was not actually available and they could compensate by upgrading the power supply for the system. When the machine came in several drivers had to be upgraded before the machine would work. The flash card reader didn’t work so I replaced it with one from an older Dell machine. They did not send me a new card reader to replace it.
Within 3 months the Corsair 16GB Vengeance graphics card began to show lines throughout the monitor. They sent a new graphics card but only after contacting them twice for the replacement part because the first tech “forgot to complete the shipping documentation for the replacement part”. Now, after using the machine 6 months, one of the RAID 1TB Seagate Barracuda drives has failed. They have agreed to ship out a replacement part for this, but I had to pay overnight shipping so my photography business did not go down for 5 days without the part.
Wow! I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months hold for this “award winning” machine!
