Introduction and Features

Creating a portable gaming rig for LAN parties and other events can sometimes be a difficult task. Most hardcore gamers build their own systems and usually base them off the ATX motherboard form factor. Unfortunately, lugging a heavy ATX system to LAN parties is not very convenient or functional. NZXT has heard the gaming community’s call for an innovative micro ATX gaming case, and the new Vulcan case falls gives them many of the features they put on their hardware wish lists.

The Vulcan is completely painted with a matte black finish from the exterior panels to the internal chassis, hard drive cage, and optical bays. They also included a heavy-duty, non-slip handle that matches the case design perfectly. There’s also a dual-channel 8 watt fan controller that manages four fans. The hard drive cage uses rails to mount HDDs without screws. The case can handle two 5.25″ devices and two 3.5″ devices in the top bay and another two 3.5″ devices in the removable hard drive cage mounted to the bottom of the case.

One of the best features that gamers will want to take note of is that the Vulcan supports up to two 350mm cards in SLI and Crossfire configurations. The case also comes with two 120mm fans (one at the front of the case and the other on the top). There’s also room to add an additional 92mm fan at the back of the case and another 120mm fan at the top of the case. Users can also purchase an optional 200mm intake fan from NZXT that can be mounted on the left side mesh panel.
