Retail Packaging

NZXT Vulcan Micro-ATX PC Case Review - Cases and Cooling 40

The Vulcan’s retail packaging is pretty plain compared to other cases we’ve seen come across our test bench recently. There is a nice black and white photo of the case on the front panel, but NZXT doesn’t list the case’s special features that will attract consumers to this product.

The back panel has line drawings of the Vulcan’s interior and exterior features as well as a laundry list of features and specifications in multiple languages.

The Vulcan is packaged in a standard clear plastic bag and encased between two molded pieces of foam. This is a practical and effective way of securing cases during shipping.

Here’s a close-up shot of how the Vulcan was packaged during shipping. As you can see, there are no signs of mishandling during shipping.

Some of the included items with this case are motherboard standoffs, hard drive and CD-ROM thumbscrews, fan screws, and regular screws for the motherboard and power supply.

These four rails are used to secure two hard drives to the HDD tray at the bottom of the Vulcan. Users have the option of using these rails or thumbscrews to attach their hard drives. Sadly, NZXT didn’t include any way for users to install solid state drives, which is quite disappointing because it is an easy thing to add to any case design.

Lastly, NZXT included a detailed user’s guide to walk people through installing hardware into the Vulcan. It is written in multiple languages and includes detailed photos of each portion of installing PC components.
