WD’s 3TB drive, storage so big most devices are afraid of it

As Allyn shows in the video version of this weeks podcast, even the mighty Drobo is unsure what to do with Western Digital’s Caviar Green 3TB HDD; it might recognize it but it cannot use it. There are ways to use it as The Tech Report proves in their review, a UEFI BIOS helps but there are ways to make the HDD work even with the more common AHCI controller. It does prove to be not as snappy as some other large density drives and you do pay a premium to pick up the largest drive on the market but if you need the space this drive can provide it.
